Ashley’s Online Personal Training Success

When I finally decided to become a personal trainer, I had no idea how much I could learn from my clients. They have so much dedication, hard work & persistence. Ashley was no exception! She was a rockstar during our training together & jumped right into cleaner eating and consistent workouts. Being a working mom is a huge learning curve for new moms, but there is comfort in knowing someone else completely understands what you are going through. Online Personal Training – Julia’s Success (13″ & 8 lbs GONE!)

A few months ago, I wrote about why I want to be a personal trainer and why I have held myself back from following my dreams. When you decide to follow your dreams, it is not all cupcakes & rainbows. There are days when I question my decision to start my own personal training business while having a mobile infant, continuing my part-time work in higher ed (including a new position!), managing a photography business with my husband, maintaining my own fitness and achieving balance for myself & my family. I don’t question my decision, but my timing. When I doubt the timing, I remember that I felt called at this time and had so much peace about this decision back in March.

Seeing my personal training clients already achieve so much success is even more reassuring that I did the right thing at the right time. Some days are very stressful, but I can only take it one day at a time (sometimes one hour) and remember to cherish the time I have with my family & friends. I have had to become even more efficient (I didn’t realize that would be possible!) & ASK FOR HELP. If you know me, I don’t like asking for help, but I also want my daughter to get the attention she deserves. So, my wonderful cousin takes care of Reese two mornings a week so I can CRANK out work. I also have the luxury of having a husband with a wonderful schedule, which helps immensely because he gets home earlier than 8-5ers.

Anywho, enough about ME. Let’s talk about my wonderful client, Julia. She is a single, full-time working mama of two wonderful boys, so you know she has her hands full!

Julia’s Goals:

  • Six pack abs
  • Thinner legs
  • Plays more easily & longer with her kids

After 8 weeks of training with me (customized weekly workout plans, nutrition accountability, a few in-person pt sessions and weekly check-ins with me), she has achieved two of her three original goals! She is still working on her six pack abs, which we all know happens more in the kitchen than in the weight room.

Not only did she achieve her goals, but she also LOST 13 inches & 8 pounds (with 4 1/2 in. coming off her thighs)! She did the majority of her workouts at home, with the exception of a few in-person sessions we had together. Now, her pants fit better & she is able to keep up with her two boys while playing basketball at the park.

As you can see, this is not a 50 lb weight loss story, but that is not what she needed & you have to admit that this mama looked pretty DARN good before she started working with me! She showed discipline & dedication over these past few months and I couldn’t be more proud of her. Not only is she improving herself, but her family. Great job Julia!

I knew this would happen, but boy i didn’t think it would happen so soon. We love seeing her mind put two and two together, such as pulling a kids chair out a little so she can use it to assist her standing. You read that, right! She is pulling herself up onto most everything she can, including us and she tries with Jack but he’s not too fond of it.

To keep up with fast crawler, we need fuel! What better way to fuel your body than by eating clean? We aren’t perfect with our eating, but we try our best. We both feel better when we eat lean protein, fruits, veggies, complex carbs, and limited dairy. (The limited dairy part would kill Ryan, so I leave it alone .)

My dilemma…I love to cook, except on days that I worked all day. When I’ve been gone all day, all I want to do is cuddle with Reese until she goes to bed. So, planning our meals in advance sets us up for success.

On days that I’m gone all I typically will do a crockpot meal or Ryan will cook dinner. This avoids wanting to resort to takeout or pizza on a regular basis. If you’re looking for some new food ideas, below are some of our favorite lunches, dinners and OH MY GOSH…a dessert.
P.S. We LOVE pizza, but I would prefer to make it myself because I know what’s in it and I can load it up with veggies.

This is one of my favorite dessert recipes of all time! It makes single serving cake and it is husband-approved! I have made it at least 10 times when one of us has a sweet tooth that night. It’s quick, easy and healthy, but the best part is that I’m not turning to an entire bag of chocolate chips to satisfy my sweet tooth.

New Hair!!

I was getting so bored with my hair, so I decided to change it up. I have loved a little blonde in my hair and red, so I wasn’t sure which way I wanted to go until a few hours before my hair appointment. With the sun shining outside, I knew I had to try a bronde ombre look, especially because my hair gets lighter in the summer. I love it!!

Welcome to my “new” blog!

Well hello there. This is my “new” blog. It’s not really new, but my name has changed. Sadly, I’ll be shutting down….BUT I will still be blogging about the same things and on a more regular basis. ☺️

My new blog (FitLifeWithE) will focus on fitness, food, family and faith…the four things that make me who I am today. I’m so excited to be broadening my horizons! Those horizons include studying to be a certified personal trainer and hopefully a few course certifications down the road, such as TRX and spinning. I’m excited! 😜
